Justify FullEver wonder what is it with Indian urinals..? I mean espcially the ones where you pee. It is the same everywhere ... in Malls , Restaurants, Offices and Cinemas ...wherever you go ... things just are the same everywhere !! And I'm not talking about the stink or the irritating habits that we Indians exhibit .

Havent you ever wondered why the dammed pee pot has to be so close to my dammed dick ...?? All the pee pots everywhere are of the same height ... and they are all too damn high !!! I wonder why ...!! And there is no variation anywhere ..!! It is no surprise that it gets my tail up in anger and frustration.

I mean ... think !! Here is a piece of ceramic that is barely a couple of sqaure feet in area and it collects and channels one of the most disgusting wastes from the human body. Not just once ... but many times over in a day, and of numerous different humans that decide to bless the pot with their pee. And the way the shortage of water is prevalant in India, it is lucky if it gets flushed with clean water a couple of times a day. With the incessant streams of urines that rain down on it, it is but natural that it becomes a breeding ground of infections. Thus with the proximity of the pot to dicks ... the infectious bugs jumping across the divide from ceramic to skin is a matter of when rather than if.

No wonder I get mortally scared whenever I use such banks of urinals. And before somebody comments on my height (or lack thereof) let me make it clear that I stand close to 6 ft hight whch is more than half a foot over that of the average Indian. So imagine the plight of the average Indian (or less than average) that uses the urinals ... or worse .. in case is unaware of the issue at hand ( to precise ...holding in his hand) faces the risk unknowingly. Lets face it ... if I'm standing close to 6 ft high ... and I have a problem ... there's a majority of the urinal using population that is going to face the problem.

I mean .... how can it be so common ..? Every toilet .. every where ....?? I wonder if there is just ONE architect in india who has a exclusive contract for designing urinals ...and that he has got the template all wrong ..especially in the height department. Or that he is a tall person and hates short people and this is his way of exacting revenge on those who do not exactly share his altitude. Or could it be a she .... who has designed her own way to get even with this male Chavunistic society !!

Whatever it is .... the problem is endemic in India. And the worse part is that is more likely to be faced in urban areas than in the rural areas. (I wonder in rural areas if they are even aware of the concept of urinals.). It never fails to amuse me as to how upscale places spend crores of rupees in design and getting spunkier accessories like Bose speakers and Carrier ACs, yet get a basic thing like this wrong.

So next time ... I'm just gonna avoid the urinal and head in the toilet bowls .. and leave the next person following up to wipe the slate clean (pun clearly intended !!!)
